Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been formally decorated as the Patron of the Lagos State Scout Council during a ceremony held at Lagos House, Marina.
The event underscored the longstanding contributions of the Scout Association of Nigeria, which for over a century has focused on instilling discipline, leadership, and strong moral values in young people across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development, noting that through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Lagos State continues to support initiatives that promote social inclusion, character building, and meaningful empowerment for children and young people.

He expressed appreciation to the State Scout Commissioner, Alhaji Olohuntoyin Adebesin, and members of the council for the honour bestowed on him, describing the recognition as a call to deepen collaboration in strengthening youth-focused programmes.
Governor Sanwo-Olu further pledged continued partnership with the Scout Council to nurture responsible leadership and secure a brighter future for the next generation in Lagos State.
