Lagos backs AFRIDEX 2026 as State reaffirms commitment to regional security dialogue

The Lagos State Government has expressed strong support for the upcoming Africa International Defence Exhibition (AFRIDEX 2026), following a courtesy visit by the event’s Steering Committee to Lagos House, Marina.

The delegation, led by Major General B.I. Alaya, briefed the state government on preparations for the continental defence and security exhibition, which is expected to serve as a major platform for high-level dialogue on security challenges and solutions across Africa.

Welcoming the team, the state government emphasized that security remains the foundation of sustainable development, noting that initiatives such as AFRIDEX align with Lagos State’s broader commitment to safety, stability, and regional cooperation.

The government pledged full institutional support to ensure the successful hosting of the exhibition, describing it as a timely and strategic initiative for strengthening collaboration among security stakeholders on the continent.

Appreciation was also extended to Major General Alaya and his team for their visit, with assurances of continued partnership toward the successful delivery of AFRIDEX 2026 in Lagos.
