The Delta State High Court in Asaba has remanded a dismissed Assistant Superintendent of Police, Usman Nuhu, and four other dismissed police officers at the Ogwashi-Uku Correctional Centre over the alleged extrajudicial killing of 28-year-old Oghenemene Ogidi, popularly known as OG Millan.
The officers were arraigned in connection with the April 26, 2026, shooting in Effurun, Delta State, an incident that sparked public outrage after a video of the killing surfaced online.
Justice Marshall Onome Umukoro ordered that the defendants be remanded for 15 working days pending legal advice from the Delta State Attorney-General and directed that subsequent proceedings be conducted virtually.
The Nigeria Police Force had earlier dismissed the officers following investigations, with the Inspector-General of Police approving their prosecution over alleged violations of operational procedures and firearm regulations.
The case continues to draw attention from human rights advocates, the public, and the victim’s family, who are demanding justice and accountability.
