The Nigeria Police Force, Yobe State Command, has uncovered an illegal firearms fabrication factory in Potiskum and arrested seven suspects in a major crackdown on criminal activities in the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the operation followed credible intelligence and was carried out by the Potiskum Area Command in collaboration with divisional police operatives.
The raid, conducted at a blacksmith workshop along Danchuwa Road, led to the arrest of seven suspects allegedly involved in the illegal fabrication of Dane guns and other firearms. Items recovered include fabricated pistols, gun parts, and tools used in weapon production.
Authorities say the suspects are currently under investigation to uncover possible collaborators and determine the intended use of the weapons.
The Commissioner of Police has ordered intensified investigations and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
