The Labour Party (LP) has unveiled Hajja Bintu Konto as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. She will run alongside the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Chibuzo Okereke, on a ticket the party says is founded on competence, integrity and inclusive leadership.
Announcing the nomination in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, described Konto as a seasoned public health expert and humanitarian with over three decades of experience in healthcare delivery, community development and humanitarian intervention. He said her extensive work with vulnerable communities, particularly in the North-East, reflects the party’s commitment to gender inclusion, national unity and people-centred governance.
The Labour Party said the Okereke-Konto ticket offers a fresh leadership vision focused on restoring hope, strengthening institutions, improving security and driving economic growth, while urging Nigerians to support its candidates in the 2027 general election.
