A second batch of 39 Nigerian Returnees from South Africa landed safely at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Friday night, July 10, 2026.
The group, arriving aboard a South African Airways flight at around 8:20 p.m., consisted of 25 men, four women, and 10 children. They had been unable to board the initial Air Peace evacuation flight that landed the previous day.
The swift repatriation was made possible through a joint effort by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Air Peace.
Upon arrival, a multi-agency coalition—including the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), NEMA, NiDCOM and FAAN—coordinated the reception.
The Nigeria Immigration Service handled screening and clearance smoothly, ensuring a dignified and orderly homecoming for the citizens.
