The Council of Legal Education has announced a 79.1 per cent pass rate in the December 2025 Bar Final Examinations of the Nigerian Law School, with 212 candidates earning First Class honours.
Out of 7,602 candidates who sat for the examinations, 1,216 obtained Second Class Upper, 2,961 achieved Second Class Lower, while 1,622 recorded a Pass. Additionally, 314 candidates were given conditional passes, 1,067 failed, and 210 were absent.
The Council noted that the results reflect the “hard work, dedication and perseverance” of successful candidates, while also highlighting the rigorous standards required for legal practice in Nigeria.
The Bar Final Examination remains a mandatory requirement for all law graduates seeking admission to the Nigerian Bar and eventual qualification to practise law in the country. Successful candidates will proceed to the Call to Bar ceremony after completion of screening processes.
