The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has given the Federal Government a 10-day ultimatum to meet its demands or face a nationwide strike.
In a communiqué released after its Extraordinary National Executive Council (E-NEC) meeting held virtually on Sunday, NARD expressed deep dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to implement agreements previously reached.
Key grievances include:
- Non-payment of the 2025 Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) to many resident doctors.
- Outstanding five-month arrears from the 25%/35% CONMESS salary review.
- Unpaid 2024 Accoutrement Allowance.
- Downgrading of membership certificates from the West African Colleges by the MDCN.
- Non-issuance of certificates by the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
NARD warned that if these issues are not resolved within 10 days, its members will withdraw their services across the country.
