National grid collapses again

According to data from the Independent System Operator (ISO), power generation dropped sharply from 2,917.83 MW to just 1.5 MW between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Confirming the grid collapse, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) stated that its customers had experienced a widespread outage in its service area, attributing it to a loss of supply from the national grid at approximately 11:23 a.m.

“We wish to inform our customers that the current power outage is due to a loss of supply from the national grid at 11:23 hrs today, which has impacted electricity distribution across our franchise areas.

“We are actively collaborating with relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon as the grid is stabilized.

We appreciate your patience and understanding,” the statement read.
