The Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals has initiated the deployment of its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks to commence the nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). This move is part of a strategic effort to enhance fuel supply efficiency across Nigeria.
In August, the refinery received the first batch of its 4,000 CNG-powered trucks, a significant investment aimed at reducing logistics costs and improving the delivery of petroleum products. The initiative is expected to transform the fuel distribution landscape by enabling direct delivery to end-users, thereby minimizing reliance on third-party carriers.
During a recent engagement with stakeholders, Aliko Dangote emphasized that the decision to adopt direct fuel distribution is both a strategic choice and a national imperative. He highlighted the potential benefits, including cost savings for consumers and increased efficiency in the supply chain.
