NiMet predicts thunderstorms, rainfall nationwide – Sept 15

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted widespread thunderstorms and moderate rainfall across the country for Monday, September 15, 2025.

Key Highlights:

  • Northern Region:
    Morning thunderstorms and rain are expected in Kaduna, Gombe, Bauchi, Kebbi, Adamawa, and Taraba.
    Afternoon/evening thunderstorms are likely in Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, and other.
  • Central States:
    Cloudy morning skies with possible rain in Niger, Kogi, Kwara, FCT, and Benue.
    Isolated thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are expected later in the day.
  • Southern Region:
    Morning clouds and rain are expected in Ekiti, Ondo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River.
    Widespread rainfall is expected in the afternoon/evening.

Advisory:
Flash floods are likely in Adamawa, Taraba, and Gombe.
Thunderstorms may cause temporary disruptions to outdoor activities.
Motorists should drive with caution due to reduced visibility and slippery roads.
