Gabriel Martinelli’s stoppage-time strike earned Arsenal a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Sunday, denying Pep Guardiola’s side a rare clean-sheet victory in the Premier League.
Erling Haaland had put City ahead in the 9th minute after a swift counterattack. The visitors then switched to an unusually defensive approach, frustrating Arsenal for most of the match.
But deep into stoppage time, Eberechi Eze floated a pass over City’s backline, and Martinelli made no mistake — chipping Donnarumma to equalise.
The result keeps Arsenal in second place on goal difference, five points behind leaders Liverpool after five games. City, meanwhile, now trail by eight points.
