Spain and Barcelona midfield maestro Aitana Bonmati has clinched her third consecutive Women’s Ballon d’Or, cementing her legacy as one of the game’s modern greats.
The 27-year-old edged out Mariona Caldentey, her Spain teammate and club rival, at the glittering ceremony in Paris. Bonmati, who was named Player of the Tournament at Euro 2025, showed resilience by bouncing back from viral meningitis to lead Spain to the final — where they narrowly lost to England on penalties.
Despite also falling short in the Women’s Champions League final to Arsenal, Bonmati’s consistent brilliance throughout the season was undeniable.
Alessia Russo of England completed the top three after a standout tournament and club campaign.
