The Lagos State House of Assembly has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Samuel Aina, a former chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, and other recently deceased councilors in the state.
At plenary on Tuesday, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, highlighted Aina’s notable contributions, including overseeing the construction of the council’s secretariat building during his tenure from 1999 to 2003.
Lawmakers, including Hon. Ajomale Oladipo, praised Aina’s leadership and integrity, while Speaker Mudashiru Obasa described him as a father figure with an enduring legacy. The Clerk was directed to send a condolence letter to his family.
Obasa also urged political stakeholders to prioritise their health amid rising cases of sudden deaths among elected officials.
