The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that passenger train operations along the Abuja–Kaduna corridor will resume next week.
This follows the completion of repairs and safety checks on the track section at Asham, where a derailment occurred on August 26, 2025.
According to NRC spokesman Callistus Unyimadu, details on the exact resumption date and schedule will be announced shortly.
So far, 512 of the 583 affected passengers have been refunded, with efforts ongoing to reach the rest.
The NRC thanked passengers for their patience and reaffirmed its commitment to safety, comfort, and global best practices.
