Tragic Loss: Spanish Goalkeeper Raul Ramirez, 19, dies after on-field collision

Spanish football is mourning the heartbreaking death of 19-year-old goalkeeper Raul Ramirez, who passed away following a collision during a fifth-division match between his club, Colindres, and Revilla.

Ramirez suffered a severe head injury during the game on Saturday. According to Spanish media, the impact caused multiple cardiac arrests, leaving him brain dead before he ultimately passed.

In a statement on Monday, the Cantabrian Football Federation (RFCF) confirmed the tragic news and announced that, in accordance with his family’s wishes, Ramirez’s organs will be donated to help save others.

“Cantabrian football mourns the sudden loss of a young man who leaves us too soon,” the RFCF said.

As a mark of respect, the federation has declared three days of mourning and will observe a minute’s silence before all matches in the upcoming round of fixtures.
