Police arraign NURTW Chieftain for alleged murder

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned Samsideen Oladiti, popularly known as Shamelon, a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), for alleged murder.

Oladiti, 55, appeared before Ebute Metta Magistrate Court 2 on Tuesday, following his arrest over the alleged assault and killing of a dispatch rider on Lagos Island.

According to the Command’s Deputy PPRO, Babaseyi Oluseyi, the suspect reportedly attacked the victim with a helmet and his fists, causing fatal injuries.

It was also revealed that a separate complaint had previously been filed against Oladiti regarding an incident that occurred on August 28, 2025.
