PENGASSAN halts nationwide strike

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has called off its nationwide strike.

President of the association, Festus Osifo, made the announcement during a press briefing held in Abuja. He stated that the decision came after discussions with the National Security Adviser and representatives of Dangote Refinery.

Osifo acknowledged that some “grey areas” in the agreement remain unresolved, as both the government and refinery management were unable to provide complete clarity on certain issues.

Despite ongoing concerns, he emphasized that the strike was suspended in good faith. However, Osifo cautioned that PENGASSAN would not hesitate to resume the industrial action without prior notice if the refinery fails to fulfill its obligations under the agreement.
