Justice Faruku Bunza, the High Court judge abducted in Kebbi State one week ago, has regained his freedom and returned home safely.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Kebbi State Police Command confirmed the judge’s release, with the command’s public relations officer, Bashir Usman, saying his freedom had also been verified by both his family and the Kebbi State Ministry of Justice.
The police disclosed that although the kidnappers demanded a ransom, the command maintained its policy of not paying ransom during the rescue efforts.
Security agencies have since intensified investigations to identify and apprehend those responsible for the abduction, assuring the public that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
