Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has denied having any electoral agreement or partnership with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before, during or after the August 15 governorship election.
Adeleke, in a post on his verified X handle, said the ADC was not part of the political coalition that supported his campaign ahead of the election.
He credited God and the people of Osun State for his re-election, while commending his political allies for their efforts and sacrifices during the campaign.
The governor said he had no electoral deal with the ADC and clarified that the party was not involved in the coalition that mobilised support for his campaign.
Adeleke defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and the ADC candidate, Najeem Salaam, in the keenly contested poll.
The governor secured 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes and Salaam recorded 17,180 votes.
Adeleke won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, with Oyebamiji winning the remaining 11.
Following his victory, Adeleke said he remained governor of all Osun residents regardless of their political affiliation, religion or ethnic background, pledging to focus on the unity and development of the state.
