The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, has urged residents to make environmental cleanliness a shared responsibility by actively participating in the State’s monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise.
Agoro, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. Sunkanmi Oyegbola, made the call on Saturday, August 29, 2026, while monitoring the August sanitation exercise in Bariga Local Council Development Area.
Oyegbola stressed that maintaining a clean environment is essential to the health, safety and well-being of Lagos residents. She urged Lagosians to adopt responsible waste disposal practices and sustain environmental hygiene beyond the monthly exercise.
She noted that keeping Lagos clean should not be left to the government alone, stressing that residents, communities and other stakeholders have vital roles to play in protecting the environment and promoting public health.
The monitoring exercise was attended by government officials, environmental sanitation officers, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, the Chairman of Bariga LCDA, representatives of LAWMA Academy and other stakeholders.
The exercise underscores the Lagos State Government’s continued commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness, responsible waste management and healthier communities across the state.
