Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, has urged public servants to take advantage of capacity-building opportunities provided by the state government to improve their knowledge, skills and competencies for better performance and service delivery.
Agoro made the call at the opening ceremony of the 2025/2026 Career Week organised by the Lagos State Civil Service Commission for officers on Grade Levels 8–17 in the Ministries of Information and Strategy, and Innovation, Science and Technology. He described the programme as unique, noting that it brought the two ministries together for the first time under themes centred on leveraging digital technology for improved government business and service delivery.
The Head of Service commended the Civil Service Commission, led by its Chairman, Mrs. Boladele Dapo-Thomas, for sustaining the initiative. He said the programme would promote professionalism in information and records management while encouraging the effective deployment of Information and Communication Technology in government operations, particularly in the era of digital governance.
Agoro urged participants to apply the knowledge gained to develop innovative solutions to existing and emerging challenges, especially those relating to ease of doing business and improved government processes. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman, House Committee on Establishments, Training, Pension and Public Service, Hon. Oladele Ajayi; Chairman, Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, Dame Mrs. Mopelola Perigrino; members of the Civil Service Commission, the Body of Permanent Secretaries and other dignitaries.
