Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan is set for a major test today as she takes on Olympic champion Masai Russell in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Weltklasse Diamond League meeting in Zurich, Switzerland.
The Zurich meeting is the final regular-season stop of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League ahead of the series final in Brussels on September 4–5, making the race crucial as athletes look to strengthen their positions before the finale.
Amusan, the world-record holder, will be aiming to bounce back strongly after winning bronze at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games in 12.60 seconds. She faces a formidable field featuring Russell, world champion Ditaji Kambundji and other leading hurdlers.
Russell arrives in impressive form, having clocked 12.14 seconds in Xiamen, the second-fastest time ever recorded in the event and just 0.02 seconds shy of Amusan’s world record of 12.12 seconds.
The highly anticipated showdown is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, at Letzigrund Stadium, with Amusan looking to make a strong statement on the Diamond League stage.
