The Secretary to the Anambra State Government, Chiamaka Nnake, has clarified her involvement with the purported Made-in-Nigeria Office recently exposed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Nnake said her involvement was limited to serving as Anambra State’s focal person after Governor Chukwuma Soludo nominated her for the role in February 2026.
She explained that the state government had received a letter from the purported office requesting the nomination of focal persons across the 36 states.
According to Nnake, the focal persons were subsequently added to a WhatsApp group where activities and programmes associated with the organisation were discussed.
She added that the organisation later requested that Anambra host the South-East Made-in-Nigeria Fair, scheduled for December 2 to 5, 2026, and the state government approved the proposal.
Nnake said the Anambra government believed the organisation was legitimate until the ICPC identified it as a purportedly fake agency.
She stressed that her involvement was restricted to official communications concerning her nomination and preparations for the proposed fair, adding that she had no knowledge of or connection to any other activities attributed to the organisation.
The ICPC had earlier revealed that the purported office was linked to an investigation into a fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council allegedly operated by Adeyemi Matthew.
