The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the conduct of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) rally held on Saturday in Alimosho, Lagos, during which former Labour Party governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, officially joined the ADC.
In a statement, APC Southwest Organizing Secretary, Lateef Ibirogba, alleged that the rally, rather than being peaceful, involved ADC thugs harassing residents and APC supporters.
He described the incident as “unfortunate and reckless,” stressing that Lagos has a reputation for peaceful political engagement and should not be turned into a zone of political violence.
Ibirogba also questioned Rhodes-Vivour’s choice of Alimosho as the venue for his defection, noting that he neither resides nor votes in the area.
He called on security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure political activities in Lagos remain peaceful and within the bounds of the law.
