The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 2027 elections, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima named chairman and vice chairman respectively.
APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will also serve as vice chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has been appointed Director-General of the campaign council. Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as secretary.
The council also includes Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni and other senior party leaders in key leadership and mobilisation roles.
Senator James Abiodun Faleke returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring, while Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris will coordinate the Media and Strategic Communication Directorate.
Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga, Lanre Issa-Onilu and other media professionals have also been assigned key responsibilities within the campaign structure.
The campaign council comprises several directorates covering election planning, legal affairs, mobilisation, administration, media, strategic communication and new media.
President Tinubu charged members of the council to work towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 elections and urged party leaders to unite members and effectively communicate the administration’s achievements to Nigerians.
