The Nigerian Army has declared two senior leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) wanted, placing a combined ₦60 million bounty on them over their alleged involvement in terrorist activities across the Lake Chad Basin.
In a statement, the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Muhammed Goni, said the wanted suspects are Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, identified as the ISWAP governor, with a ₦50 million reward, and his deputy, Muhammad Jidda, for whom a ₦10 million reward has been offered.
The Army said the identities of the suspects were uncovered through forensic analysis of technical devices, including a camcorder and other intelligence materials, recovered during recent military offensives against ISWAP in northern Borno State.
According to the military, the recovered devices provided actionable intelligence that led to the identification of key terrorist leaders and operational locations within the Mangari–Metele–Dogon Chukun axis along the Lake Chad Basin in Abadam and Kukawa Local Government Areas of Borno State.
Operation Hadin Kai urged members of the public to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects, assuring that all information would be treated with strict confidentiality and that informants would be adequately protected. The military also encouraged the public to report relevant information through established security channels.
