Beyond the monthly package of healthy foodstuffs distribution is an assurance of quality security intervention and a stronger social welfare, not only for the aged within the community but for all the people of Somolu Local Government Area.
The 12th edition of the Ounje Arugbo initiative was held in demonstration of the Executive Chairman, Honourable Lateef Ashimi’s commitment to the social wellbeing of the people. It also serves as a support system to homes, especially given the present economic situation in the country.
Residents across all demographic strata at the event lauded the initiative, expressing hope for greater achievements in Somolu in the future.
In his environmental advocacy, honourable Ashimi used the platform to urge residents to embrace healthy living habits and to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse, a habit hazardous to human existence. According to him, efforts are being intensified by the relevant authorities to hasten waste evacuation in communities, and environmental law offenders will be prosecuted accordingly
