Barcelona have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Spanish midfielder Rodri for a reported fee of around €75 million.
The 30-year-old World Cup winner is expected to become the latest major addition to the Catalan side, with the transfer set to be officially announced in the coming days.
Barcelona had two previous bids rejected before finally reaching an agreement with City. The move comes as the club looks to strengthen its midfield, particularly with Frenkie de Jong facing several months on the sidelines due to injury.
Rodri has been a key figure in Manchester City’s success since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2019. During his time at the club, he helped City win the 2023 UEFA Champions League, four Premier League titles and several other major trophies.
The midfielder, who won the 2024 Ballon d’Or, also played a crucial role in Spain’s 2026 World Cup triumph.
Rodri had previously been linked with Real Madrid, but Barcelona ultimately won the race for his signature.
The move is expected to further strengthen Barcelona’s squad as they prepare for the new season, with the club also reportedly close to completing a deal for Joao Cancelo.
