The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has kept the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) unchanged at 27.50%, following a unanimous decision by the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on Tuesday.
Other key parameters were also retained:
- Asymmetric corridor at +500/-100 basis points
- Cash Reserve Ratio: 50% for Deposit Money Banks, 16% for Merchant Banks
- Liquidity Ratio: 30%
CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso said the decision is aimed at sustaining the disinflation momentum and addressing persistent inflationary pressures. He added that the bank will continue to monitor economic trends to guide future policy decisions.
