UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin has ruled out running for FIFA president, despite growing pressure on Gianni Infantino to step down.
Ceferin said he remains committed to UEFA and believes his credibility would be stronger if he does not seek the FIFA presidency.
His comments come amid mounting criticism of Infantino over his now-abandoned plan to attract private investment into FIFA competitions, including the men’s and women’s World Cups.
Ceferin warned that Infantino could either resign or face a challenger at the FIFA Congress scheduled for March 2027 in Morocco.
Meanwhile, CONCACAF president Victor Montagliani and AFC president Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa have been tipped as potential challengers to Infantino.
Infantino became FIFA president in 2016 after succeeding Sepp Blatter.
