Canadian music icon Celine Dion is preparing to return to live performance after spending years away from the stage while managing stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that significantly affected her ability to perform.
In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar published on August 18, Dion revealed that she has made significant progress in her recovery through an intensive treatment and rehabilitation program.
The singer said her recovery has included physical and vocal therapy, medication, immunotherapy and a demanding fitness routine. The treatments are aimed at helping her regain the strength, coordination and control required for live performances.
Dion is scheduled to make her highly anticipated return to the stage with a 16-date residency at the Plenitude Arena in Paris, beginning on September 12, 2026, and running through October 17.
The residency will mark her first extended series of live concerts in several years and is expected to attract fans eager to see the award-winning singer perform again.
The Paris engagement is also set to continue with 10 additional performances in May 2027, extending what is expected to be a major chapter in Dion’s return to live music.
For Dion, the comeback represents more than a return to performing. The singer has expressed gratitude to her fans for standing by her throughout her health struggles and has said the shows will be an opportunity to give something back to the people who continued to support her during her absence.
