Chelsea FC Women have launched a first-of-its-kind fertility support fund for their players through a new partnership with London-based clinic Fertility Plus.
The initiative makes Chelsea the first football club in the UK to introduce such a dedicated fertility fund for its women’s team, with every first-team player eligible for personalised support.
Through Fertility Plus, players will have access to fertility assessments, treatments, counselling and educational workshops designed to help them better understand their reproductive health and options.
Chelsea said the partnership is aimed at supporting players both on and off the pitch while opening up wider conversations about fertility and reproductive health in women’s football.
The club and Fertility Plus will also provide evidence-based information, fertility resources and educational content to address common misconceptions and improve awareness among players, staff and supporters.
Fertility Plus co-founders Dr Amit Shah and Dr Anil Gudi said elite sport places significant demands on women during the years when fertility can be an important consideration, adding that the partnership would provide players with access to trusted medical expertise and support.
The move represents a growing focus on women’s health and player welfare in professional football, extending support beyond performance and injury management to areas of players’ long-term wellbeing.
