A Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to produce socialite Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, popularly known as KC Luxury, before the court after 14 days in the agency’s custody.
Micheal was arrested by NDLEA operatives on August 13 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while preparing to travel to Paris.
Following his arrest, his lawyer, A. Labi-Lawal, SAN, approached the court, challenging his continued detention and seeking the enforcement of his fundamental rights.
The court has now directed the NDLEA to bring Micheal before it, placing his continued detention under judicial scrutiny after he spent two weeks in custody without being arraigned.
The development follows the legal application by his counsel urging the court to intervene in the matter.
