Nigeria’s nutrition advocacy space is witnessing a major transformation as the Civil Society–Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) successfully carried out a nationwide capacity strengthening programme for its state chapters and civil society organisations.
The intensive three-day training, held across states including Bauchi, Kaduna, Kano, Niger, Lagos, Nasarawa, Federal Capital Territory, Zamfara, Adamawa, Abia and Benue, focused on programmatic leadership, governance, KPIs, advocacy, alliance protocols, resource mobilisation and annual work planning.
More than 283 state chapter executives and civil society actors participated in what has become one of the most extensive capacity strengthening initiatives for nutrition-focused civil society coalitions in recent years.
The programme reflected Nigeria’s geopolitical diversity and reinforced national ownership, inclusion, accountability and stronger collaboration in advancing nutrition priorities across all regions.
CS-SUNN’s efforts continue to strengthen the future of nutrition advocacy and civil society engagement, while driving meaningful progress toward food and nutrition security in Nigeria.
