Country music icon Dolly Parton has been laid to rest following a private funeral, her family has confirmed.
Parton’s death was announced by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, in an Instagram video posted on August 25. Her publicist later confirmed that the musician had been diagnosed with cancer but did not disclose further details about her illness.
In a touching tribute shared on August 29, Parton’s niece, Lainey Parton, said the family had waited until after the funeral to put their grief into words.
Lainey described the late singer as her “Aunt Granny” while reflecting on the loss of the country music legend.
