The Democratic Republic of Congo has recorded more than 3,000 confirmed Ebola cases, with the death toll rising to 1,354, according to the latest government figures.
Health authorities confirmed that the number of infections has reached 3,075, underscoring the continued impact of the deadly virus in the Central African nation.
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighbouring Uganda a public health emergency in May, warning that it poses a significant risk of spreading to other countries in the region.
The WHO continues to classify the regional risk as high, while urging sustained surveillance, rapid response measures, and international cooperation to contain the outbreak and prevent further transmission.
