Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have rescued the four remaining students of the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda, who were abducted by bandits in Zamfara State.
The students were rescued during an intelligence-led operation carried out without the payment of ransom. The DSS also arrested one suspected kidnapper, while other members of the gang were neutralised during the operation.
The victims were among six students kidnapped on June 3, 2026, when armed bandits attacked their off-campus hostel in the Low-Cost area of Kaura Namoda town. Two of the students had earlier regained their freedom.
The successful rescue followed sustained intelligence and security operations, bringing the kidnapping incident to a close and reuniting all the abducted students with their families.
