The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, has commended the educational intervention of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali (Emugoriade I), during activities marking the monarch’s 10th Coronation Anniversary.
Sanni was among the dignitaries at the Public Lecture and Education Intervention Programme organised by the Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali Royal Foundation. The event, themed “Curbing the Menace of Unemployment: Causes, Effects and Solutions,” brought together government officials, traditional rulers, education stakeholders and community members to examine practical strategies for tackling unemployment and empowering young people.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Oba Kasali donated computers to public schools across Igbogbo Kingdom to strengthen teaching and learning while promoting digital literacy among students.
In his remarks, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary described the donation as a reflection of the monarch’s enduring commitment to educational development and youth empowerment. He noted that the intervention complements the Lagos State Government’s drive to improve access to quality education and equip students with the digital skills required for the 21st century.
Sanni also underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among government, traditional institutions and community-based organisations in advancing educational excellence and fostering sustainable youth development.
