President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging the faithful to embrace and practise the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the President said the celebration should go beyond commemorating the birth of the Prophet and serve as an opportunity for introspection, prayer and reflection on his exemplary life.
Tinubu highlighted virtues such as devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness, urging Muslims to make deliberate efforts to apply these values in their daily lives.
He also called on Islamic and other religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and encourage their followers to translate the lessons from the Prophet’s life into greater commitment to the nation.
The President further urged Muslims celebrating the Maulud to extend love and support to the needy and vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of the occasion.
He called for prayers for an end to insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country, expressing hope for greater peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria.
