El-Kanemi Warriors have won the 2026 President’s Federation Cup after defeating Ikorodu City 1-0 in the final at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
Mukhtar Ismail scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 19th minute after El-Kanemi were awarded a spot-kick in the first half. The Borno-based side held firm defensively to deny the Lagos club, who were making their maiden appearance in the competition’s final.
The victory marks El-Kanemi’s fourth President’s Federation Cup title and secures their place as Nigeria’s second representative in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. The triumph also comes despite the club’s relegation to the Nigeria National League, making them the first relegated side in over two decades to qualify for continental football through the Federation Cup.
In the women’s final, Nasarawa Amazons defeated Heartland Queens 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time to claim their third President’s Federation Cup title.
