The family of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has dismissed as fake a letter circulating on social media and purportedly signed by the former governor.
In a statement issued by his son, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, the family described the document, titled “Urgent Message” and dated July 14, 2026, as fraudulent, insisting it did not originate from El-Rufai.
The statement urged the public to disregard the letter, stressing that neither its content nor handwriting had any connection to the former governor.
According to the family, the fake document is an attempt to create confusion and division, describing it as a desperate act of political mischief.
The viral letter had questioned the nomination of Isa Ashiru as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kaduna State and called for a review of his emergence.
However, El-Rufai’s family maintained that the letter was fabricated and should be ignored.
