The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has clarified that it has not imposed a blanket ban on e-hailing services such as Uber and Bolt at Nigerian airports.
The clarification follows recent reports and concerns over the operations of e-hailing platforms at some airports across the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday, FAAN said its position is aimed at ensuring passenger safety, security and orderly movement within airport premises, rather than restricting travellers’ access to transportation services.
The Authority explained that airports are highly regulated environments, stressing that all commercial transport operators operating within airport premises must comply with established frameworks that enable FAAN to monitor their vehicles, drivers and activities.
