The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched an investigation into a viral video showing an altercation between an Aviation Security (AVSEC) officer and a passenger at Osubi Airport in Delta State.
In a statement issued by its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, FAAN said its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Olubunmi Kuku, ordered an immediate investigation to establish the facts surrounding the incident following widespread public concern.
The video, which has generated significant reactions on social media, allegedly shows a female passenger involved in a confrontation with airport security personnel, prompting calls for improved professionalism and passenger handling at Nigerian airports.
FAAN assured the public that any officer found to have violated its operational procedures or professional standards would face appropriate administrative and disciplinary action in line with the Authority’s regulations.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, safety, security, and delivering passenger-focused services across all airports under its management.
