The Federal Government has pledged to complete Sokoto Airport ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, ensuring direct airlifting of pilgrims.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, assured that all aviation agencies will resolve bottlenecks and meet international operational standards. Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, revealed the airport is 90% complete and that five new aircraft are expected within weeks.
The project is fully funded by Sokoto State and aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to strengthen aviation infrastructure nationwide.
