The Federal Government has committed over ₦10.5 billion to its Digital Training Academy, an initiative designed to equip 32,000 Nigerians with globally competitive digital and professional skills.
Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, said the programme aims to bridge Nigeria’s digital skills gap, improve employability and prepare beneficiaries for opportunities in the global digital economy.
Training will cover high-demand fields including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development, fintech, product management and quantum computing, with beneficiaries gaining access to platforms such as Coursera and Pluralsight.
The government says the initiative will go beyond certification by connecting digital training with employment, entrepreneurship and productivity. Access centres will also be established nationwide to support beneficiaries without reliable access to computers or the internet.
