Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting credible investments capable of driving economic growth, creating jobs and accelerating sustainable development across Nigeria. He gave the assurance while speaking at the Delta Economic and Investment Summit in Asaba.
Shettima described the growing number of investment summits across states as a healthy development, noting that increased revenues to sub-national governments have created stronger foundations for attracting investors and promoting economic transformation through strategic partnerships.
At the summit, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori announced a $100 million viability gap fund to de-risk new investments in the state. He also disclosed that over 12,000 hectares of farmland have been earmarked for agricultural development, highlighting opportunities across the cassava, rice, oil palm and other agricultural value chains, alongside the state’s vast marine economy potential.
