The Federal Government will on Monday, August 24, 2026, flag off the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, a major highway linking Oyo and Ogun states.
The flag-off ceremony will take place at the open field of Legacy Estate, along the Idi Ayunre axis of the road in Ibadan.
Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, disclosed the development in an invitation to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, dated August 20, 2026.
According to Umahi, the Federal Executive Council recently approved the award of the dualisation contract to JRB Construction Limited.
The minister said the project is part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to improve road infrastructure, enhance the travel experience for motorists and support economic growth and sustainability.
The Ibadan-Ijebu Ode corridor serves as a key transport route between Oyo and Ogun states, facilitating movement between Ibadan and the Lagos-Ogun axis.
