The Federal Government has warned parents, teachers, school proprietors, principals, invigilators and students against examination malpractice, stressing the need to protect the integrity of Nigeria’s education system.
The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, said examination malpractice creates an unfair advantage, disadvantages hardworking students and undermines confidence in academic qualifications.
The government is strengthening examination administration and introducing measures, including serialised examination questions, to make public examinations more secure and reduce access to leaked materials.
The Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Ahmad, urged private school proprietors and other stakeholders to support the reforms, while encouraging schools to complete their curricula on schedule and promote consistent study.
The Federal Government says the reforms are aimed at ensuring examination results reflect genuine learning, knowledge and merit.
