President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to tackle insecurity, secure the release of all persons held captive, and protect Nigerians from terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities.
Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, at the 2026 Democracy Day Inter-Denominational Church Service in Abuja, the President assured citizens that his administration remains committed to addressing security challenges and easing the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians.
Tinubu emphasized that the safety and well-being of Nigerians remain a top priority, stressing that security agencies are being equipped with the necessary resources to safeguard lives, protect communities, and preserve the nation’s territorial integrity.
“The government of Nigeria shall never succumb to terror, banditry, or any form of criminal intimidation,” he declared.
The President also urged Nigerians, particularly the youth, to reject violence, misinformation, hate campaigns, ethnic division, and religious intolerance as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections begin to gather momentum.
He called on citizens to uphold democratic values, promote peaceful coexistence, and honour the sacrifices of the June 12 democracy heroes by working towards a more secure, united, and prosperous nation.
